Trying to figure out which baby monitor to buy is enough to send most people into a haze of indecision. Just when you think you’ve spotted the perfect one for you and your baby, something else comes along to make you think twice, or possibly even three or four times.
But this week something else came along that looks to be the crème de la crème of baby monitors. It’s called the Lorex Live Snap and the word ‘snap’ should give you something of an idea of what to expect.
For starters this is a video monitor unlike any other you will have seen. There are two units, as you might reasonably expect. One is the camera and the other is the parent unit. But this is where the similarities with many other baby monitors end. Just take a look at what comes next.
The first thing to note is that this all runs on rechargeable batteries. This means you can use it literally wherever you want to – even outside the house if you are keeping baby in the shade in the garden while you are weeding the beds. This versatility is going to make it a popular item for many parents, but this is only the start of what it has to offer.
Next, it has a parent unit that looks a little like a mobile phone. This has a colour picture on it which relays the images being monitored by the digital camera. So you can hold the unit or place it on a table next to you and keep an eye on baby just as easily as you like.
Are you enjoying all this so far? It certainly sounds promising and pretty much fulfils all the boxes parents would like to tick when it comes to watching over their baby.
But there is one final advantage to note with this monitor. You will be able to take a snapshot of your baby whenever you want to by using the snap function on the handset. And since it has a built in memory card it couldn’t be easier to transfer all those pictures over to your computer.
You’re probably still thinking you’d like to be able to hear your baby as well as talk to them. But the Lorex Live Snap can do all this as well. Are you starting to see how popular this could be?
