Is it a good idea to buy a baby monitor from the large auction site? You can save money in this way but you do need to be very careful and do your research if it is going to work correctly.
For starters you need to watch for new and second hand monitors. Buying brand new is always better because you will have the guarantee. As such you should look for a professional business seller as they are required to provide a guarantee for anything you buy. If you buy something second hand from someone who is clearing out the loft you won’t necessarily be covered.
You can specify what condition you want your baby monitor to be in however, which does make your search somewhat easier. Take a look at the left hand column on any results page and look for the tab headed ‘condition’. There will be an option to choose ‘new’ under that tab, and if you this you will only see all the new monitors.
You can also elect to buy only from business sellers too. You’ll need to go into the advanced search mode to do this, but it is simply a question of ticking the ‘seller type’ box and then selecting business instead of private if required.
You’ll find lots of choices on the site when it comes to baby monitors, and the more you can narrow those choices down the less time your search will take. For example are you prepared to try and bid on an auction and wait to see if you win? Or would you rather just spend the money on a Buy It Now item and get it faster and be assured of the sale? A lot will depend on how soon you need the baby monitor.
The next step is to think of a brand. If you go into the baby safety section on eBay, this is where the majority of the monitors will have been listed. And on the left hand side you can select from the major brands. Click on the ‘choose more’ option to expand that list and see whether your favourite brand is there. You can then view only the monitors that you want to see.
Once you have narrowed your options down you should find a good few baby monitors to choose from. And you could be closer to finding the one you really want.
